Mercotac electrical rotary culverts are used to transfer electrical signals to rotating machine components. Power, measurement and high-frequency signals can be transferred. They are much smaller, more robust than conventional rotary brush systems and provide much less signal noise.

Reasons why Mercotac connectors are better than slip rings:

• unlike a slip ring, Mercotac connectors produce almost zero electrical noise due to their unique design, 

• the resistance of the rotary contact is less than one milliohm, which is much lower than the resistance of the slip ring,

• do not deteriorate the signal over time, which is the case with slip rings. 

• slip rings require maintenance, while Mercotac connectors are maintenance-free,

• are more compact and cost much less than slip rings of the same capacity,

• both current power and instrumentation signals can be transmitted through a single, compact Mercotac connector.
