R+W backlash-free bellows couplings are constructed of compression hubs permanently connected by a stainless steel bellows. The specific shape of the bellows makes it highly laterally flexible while maintaining high torsional rigidity and low inertia. Some models of bellows couplings come in several length variants. A longer bellows results in better compensation of shaft misalignment, but also lower torsional rigidity.
