Friction overload clutches (with friction linings) provide inexpensive protection for drives by limiting torque through slip that occurs when a pre-set torque value is exceeded. They are recommended for applications with high dust and contamination. They can be used when phase preservation between the drive and driven unit is not required and where frequent small overloads occur due to the duty cycle.
